MEET OUR TEAM
Kevin Hubbard M.Ed is a small college football coach, former high school teacher and father of three. In January 2019, Kevin founded DakotaStrong with his wife Jacqueline Hubbard and he serves as the organization’s President.
Kevin has worked with children all of his professional life. Most of Kevin’s work has been as a football coach but also as a Special Education Teacher for over 10 years. Kevin served as an associate minister for Restoration Family Church while he and his family were a part of the community in Jacksonville, FL.
After receiving a B.A. Degree in Sociology from North Carolina State University, Kevin went on to attain a M.Ed in Education Leadership from Jacksonville University. As a graduate student at Jacksonville University, he began an athletic ministry and began spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the students at the school. This ministry began with football only and quickly spread to include coaches and athletes of other sports.
Kevin’s career has taken him around the country as a student and mentor to many. He has spent time in the Carolinas as well as the Black Hills of South Dakota. While in South Dakota, Coach Hubbard along with the help of an assistant coach for the Women’s basketball team at Black Hills State, began an on campus ministry that still thrives to this day. The ministry was open to any faculty, staff or student that wanted to attend and grew to have a presence on campus that caused a gospel movement at Black Hills State University.
Since moving on from South Dakota, Kevin now resides in Northern Virginia with his family. It is here that he and his wife were encouraged to co-found DakotaStrong, Inc. by the untimely and unexpected illness of their second child Dakota.
Jacqueline (Jackie) Hubbard, M.Ed, is a Special Education Teacher in Loudoun County, Virginia. Jackie has a B.S. degree in Psychology from Radford University, an M.Ed in Special Education from Grand Canyon University and an M.Ed in Education Leadership from Stetson University. Along with her husband, Kevin. Jackie founded DakotaStrong in 2019 and now serves as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. Jackie is a dedicated advocate for children and has done so through her efforts as an educator since 1999 when she entered the classroom for the first time in Greensboro, NC. Jackie is integral in the day to day logistical aspects of DakotaStrong, Inc. and provides guidance on the formation and implementation of numerous fundraising opportunities for the organization.
Jackie is deeply involved in the school and community in Loudoun County and assists in providing opportunities for students to learn about volunteerism and support for DakotaStrong’s work through fundraising and awareness. She strives to increase the level of student involvement not only into the operations of DakotaStrong but also in other volunteer opportunities in the Loudoun County community.
Jackie’s hard work and dedication to the special education communities she serves has led to her being nominated for several awards, including Volusia County Special Educator of the Year while in Florida. Jackie is the founder of an on campus organization at Freedom High school in South Riding, VA. This school-based organization is focused towards providing young ladies with much needed support to understand and become more aware of their overall self worth. The organization was founded in 2018 and attendance and participation has nearly doubled since the program began.
