OUR IMPACT
DakotaStrong’s mission is to help families who find themselves unable to make ends meet because of an unexpected health crisis of a loved one. DakotaStrong aims to provide financial assistance for everyday living expenses. This year, 2019, The DakotaStrong foundation was established by the Hubbard family who found themselves in that exact spot. The Hubbards struggled and needed financial assistance from loved ones and strangers. Although the organization is still young, the impact of donations from the community have already begun to be felt. When you partner with DakotaStrong you will have an opportunity to have your impact felt throughout your community as well!
DakotaStrong partners with different organizations in the community to seek families who are in need of financial assistance. A couple of those organizations are Care Connections for Children and Pediatric Specialist of Virginia. Both companies have a team of social workers who support the mission of #DakotaStrong by identifying families who would benefit from a relationship with the organization
If your family is being treated at PSV Clinic or you are working with Care Connections and you are in need of financial assistance, take a moment to reach out to the social workers there. Let them know you are aware of DakotaStrong and our efforts to be of assistance.
We are excited about helping and having a positive affect on the lives of families in the community. For information on how you can sponsor a family go the the “Contact” page at DakotaStrong.org or email your inquiry to info@dakotastrong.org.

#DAKOTASTRONG SUPPORTING LISA
March 2024
Lisa Greene is a 14 year stage 3B breast cancer survivor. A year ago she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. She has been fighting daily and her husband and family are right by her side in the fight with her. #DakotaStrong was happy to be able to come alongside the Green family and extend a little relief in a difficult time. Thank you Sean and Lisa for allowing us to be a small part of your huge story. God bless.
Supporting Janice
December 25, 2022
#DakotaStrong met with Damon and Janice Decker. Janice is currently in a second battle with breast cancer. The road has been long and tough and Damon remains by her side. We are blessed to be able to provide some financial relief for them as she continues to battle day in and day out. Thank you to all who support us so that we can support our communities!
Helping Hannah
March 4, 2022
#DakotaStrong was recently introduced to the Williams family. Their daughter Hannah was diagnosed with Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis. Check out the movie “Brain on Fire” if you are not familiar-not the same but very similar. After spending some time conversing with her father Marion, it was shocking to see how similar her story is to our very own Ambassador, Dakota. We connected with the Kappa Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi on the campus of NC State, where this young lady is a student to make this donation to her family. We hope it will help them remain by her side while she fights to recover! We look forward to continuing to watch her be #DakotaStrong!
Supporting Jasmin on her road to recovery
March 19, 2021
#DakotaStrong and The Kappa Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. joined together to raise $1,337 for Jasmin Scott and to assist her family when she was hospitalized after a car accident. COVID-19 regulations wouldn't allow us to visit face to face with Jasmin but we were able to pass on financial support because of all of the people who support us and our mission. Providing extra support for Preston
FEBRUARY 12, 2021
Preston needed an emergency procedure to remove a cyst the size of a grapefruit from his pancreas. Preston is a full-time student at North Carolina State University and relies on his part-time job to provide for day-to-day expenses. He has missed significant time at work since being rushed to the hospital with pain in his side. #Dakotatrong board member Teron Morris acted fast on behalf of the organization to supplement Preston's income while he recovers.
